We want to let you all know about our plan to keep your dancers doing what they love in a safe environment. We know that dance is a physical, mental, and emotional outlet for our students, and we’re so happy to have them back in the classroom and to be providing that routine and creative space for them.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and necessary to continue in-person classes. As we all know, this situation is ever-evolving, and we will continue to adapt as needed.
Below is our updated plan for Fall 2022. If major updates to this plan are needed, we will notify you via email.
Safety Measures in Studio
Please remember that the reason we’re enforcing these requirements is for the safety of your students and our staff. We’re committed to providing dance instruction for your students to enjoy, and can only do so if our students and staff remain healthy.
The CDC’s indoor mask guidance for counties labeled "green" or "yellow" based on community case numbers no longer suggest universal masking. Douglas County is currently in the green zone, therefore at this time masks will not be required in the studio. We will reinstate our mask policy if their guidance changes, if Douglas County is designated "red", or if cases inside the studio suggest a change is necessary to keep our classes running as scheduled. In the meantime, we're looking forward to seeing full smiles in our classes!
While masks are not currently required in the studio, they are always welcome!
Drop off and pick up will happen outside our front door to avoid close contact in our limited lobby space. Parents are asked to drop students at the door and collect them from the front door after class if possible to limit numbers inside the building.
Because our lobby space will be used sparingly, we will not have someone permanently posted at our front desk during classes. Teachers are happy to answer quick questions between classes or you can always send us an email!
No-contact hand sanitizer stations are available at the door to each dance room.
Personal belongings should be kept to a minimum and must be in the classroom with your student. No bags or shoes may be left in the lobby.
All classes will dismiss 5 minutes before their posted end time to allow classrooms and the lobby to clear out before the next class to avoid additional exposure.
Exposure
Any dancers who have been exposed to a positive case, exhibit symptoms, or test positive will still need to notify us via email and be isolated from our classes for 10 days. After that 10 day period, if dancers are symptom-free, they may return to class!
Please let us know if they’d like to continue class via Zoom while they’re away!
Private Lessons + Studio Rental
We’re increasing opportunities for dancers to rent our studio for individual practice on their own, and for one-on-one instruction with a teacher.
Open Studio Rentals are a great choice for dancers who want more space to dance! You’ll have access to a full studio space to dance and create! Students who are participating in Group Classes via Zoom may like this option to practice what they learn during class at home.
You can schedule your time in the studio here! Please note that you can add appointments up to 30 days in advance and with at least 24 hours notice.
Private Lessons are the safest way for your dancer to get instruction in the studio with the whole classroom available just for them and their teacher. Teachers are also happy to wear a mask during private instruction if requested! Dancers can book a private lesson to get extra practice on tough skills, advance their technique, practice learning choreography, prepare for an audition - anything they’d like to work on!

We’re so excited to welcome our dancers back to SDA!
